Experimental research of the geo-stress evolution law and effect in the intact coal and gas outburst process

Coal and gas outbursts are a potentially fatal hazard that must be managed when mining gassy coal seams. Mining-induced stress plays an important role in outbursts, while elastic potential is accumulated to provide energy for outburst. In this study, large-scale true triaxial (LSTT) apparatus was developed conduct experiments understand the outburst mechanism mining-induced geo-stress evolution law. LSTT experiments, resulted from both pressure occurred limited balance area. Under action of stress, surrounding rock compressed. Thus, large amount promotes development expansion fracture body, which results wall deformation damage. The four types instability bodily movement wall, layered separation collapse break wall. This study develops classification scheme management strategies outbursts.
